Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtain
IIBA recently reported that 72% of CEOs globally feel that the next 3 years at their company will be more critical than the last 50 years. Strategic thinking and leadership are more important now than they ever have been and yet 86% of these CEOs say they have a concern that they don't have enough time to think strategically. Strong leadership is needed during these rapidly changing and competitive times. We're not in Kansas anymore!
The need for strong leadership isn't limited to the CEO, it's needed at all levels to ensure that seemingly small decisions are aligned with the organization's goals. As business analysts, we are in a position to lead our organizations through these crucial times and help them make better decisions. The problem, however, is that BA organizations are struggling to develop a leadership culture because BAs don't recognize they need to lead, BAs don't have the skills to lead, BAs don't have authority over those that they need to influence, and organizations don't know how to develop leaders.
Leadership isn't a title that is bestowed upon you, it is something that you must work at consistently to grow your skills. Much like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz; you have power within you to be a great leader. You just need to find your courage, brains, and heart!
In this session you will:
- Learn how BAs need to be effective leaders in order to be successful
- Learn how to Lead From Behind by using storytelling and asking great questions
- Learn how to develop other leaders to create a more successful community
