Chapter Meeting-Rita Emmons
Winter is coming: Don’t forget your SCARF
In a tale as old as time, change is inevitable. Change is embedded in every facet of every person’s environment. With the rapid evolution of industry and technology trends, our ability to change and more so manage change is critical to the ongoing success of any individual or organization. Like a change in the weather, we can recognize what change is and when it is upon us. Yet regardless of the type of change, positive or negative, the process of change can still be challenging. In this session, we will examine SCARF, a neuroscience model to help understand the brain’s response to change. As a change agent, you will come to recognize the reward/threat response of resistors that can freeze the progress of change, as well as, arm your toolkit with some tips and tricks to help mitigate potential cause for conflict or opposition.
